Welcome to Glimmer Press. We are an Adelaide-based independent publisher with our sights set on publishing books that shine. We love books that bring joy, but also make us think. We believe that books are magic and agents of hope.

Our People

Lynette Washington – Publishing Director, Founder (she/her)

Glimmer Press’s founder and publisher, Lynette Washington, holds a PhD in English and Creative Writing from the University of Adelaide, and has worked as an Editor and Publicist for MidnightSun Publishing. Lynette edited the story collection Breaking Beauty and co-edited the collection Crush. Her own story collection, Plane Tree Drive, was published in 2017 and was Highly Commended in the Victorian Premier’s Literary Award and shortlisted for the MUBA. Lynette has over twenty years’ experience as a writer, editor, manuscript assessor and teacher of creative and professional writing. Her dream is to make beautiful books that tell untold stories.

Kristin Martin – Editorial Assistant (she/her) 

Kristin Martin is a poet, children’s author and educator who is passionate about words. Her children’s poetry book, To Rhyme or Not to Rhyme? was Glimmer Press’s first publication. Kristin has used her slow, pedantic reading habits to become a skilled proof-reader. Her dream is to spend her life reading and writing. 

 

Sofie Kim – Graphic Designer (she/her)

Sofie Kim is a Korean/Australian graphic and UX designer who has worked all over the world, predominantly for festivals and events. Sofie has a focus on web accessibility and is fascinated by the power of book covers to tell a story in a moment. Her dream is to improve access to books for early learners with disability.

 

Abby Guy – Graphic Designer (she/her)

Abby Guy is a PhD Candidate and Casual Academic from Flinders University with a BA (Hons) degree in Creative Arts: Creative Writing. She writes short stories and novels, and her work can be found in the student anthology, Last Call, as well as the Glimmer Press collection, FUTURES. As a graphic designer, she specialises in both cover design and illustration. Her dream is to combine her love for art and writing to create novels that are vivid and atmospheric both inside and out.
